anderson family {session 11-5-11}

Back in the beginning of November I had the chance to photograph my friend's 3 children. It was very cold out at the time but the kids were having a blast running around and being silly. I love the challenge of having to think of new ideas on how to get candid shots of kids just being kids in their natural element. These 3 active kids kept me on my toes but they were such troopers and a natural infront of the camera. I just love how the pictures turned out from this session!! So many great ones but here are just a few of my favorites!!

old town sacramento {session 9-24-11}

These Portraits were from a one of my first sessions with my own children taken in Old Town Sacramento back in September 2011. I was still experimenting with my DSLR camera settings and lighting at the time but was very happy with my final images. I was not only looking for good quality pictures, I was trying to get good composition that enhanced the subject and brought out their personality. To me it is not all about "smile & pose for the camera". I like to capture the person being themselves and sometime the "off-pictures" end up being my favorites.

I am really pleased with how the portraits turned out. My kids are pros when it comes to pictures and they helped me out a lot!! Hope you enjoy the pictures from my first session as much as I do :)

welcome to my photography blog

Hello and welcome to my new photography blog. I am excited to get started and display my work. I have always LOVED photography and have been taking many portraits of my own family, but only recently I started branching out and taking portraits of my friends and extended family as well. I am currently in the process of building my portfolio and will be displaying my work to give others a feel for my style of photography. I like a mix of different styles, depending on the photograph, and will be experimenting with new looks. Please check back often as I will be updating frequently.
